2025 FALL FUNDRAISER

Mission Peak Choir is a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Fremont, CA where neighbors come together in harmony. We are dedicated to providing access to music education and choral experiences for all people regardless of prior experience or ability. We believe in the power of making music together to build a stronger, more connected community. We share our voices, time, and energy in service of others, encouraging creative expression as a means of communication and understanding. Above all, we strive to create a place of belonging where everyone can grow, connect, and be heard.

Like the beautiful golden Western Meadowlark, a bird that stands firmly as a symbol of communication, resilience and hope, we’re committed to coming together to let our music ring out into our community, over the gentle grasses of our hills all the way to the summit of Mission Peak. We join in song as people of all different ages and backgrounds. We show up to listen, learn, and lift each other up. This year we are committed to Raise Every Voice!

Why we’re fundraising now:
In recent years, our costs outpaced our income and we depleted our reserves. The loss of essential public arts funding grants, such as those we received during the Covid pandemic, have dramatically contributed to a deficit. We were facing a year where our predicted finances would result in the organization dissolving if we didn’t make a dramatic change. We’ve worked very hard to remedy this and not only keep our organization going, but hopefully set it on a path that will encourage growth and stability well into the future. We’ve tightened our budget, simplified operations, and rebuilt our plan but to keep going this season, we need help from the people who believe in what this choir is capable of.
Goals
-
If we raise $20,000 it will surpass our current expected income and guarantee our ability to host a 2026-2027 Season. This amount will help cover core costs for this year, allowing donations from our Spring Gala event to contribute to rebuilding a modest safety cushion so the choir is stable for the long term. This additional income will allow us to put more resources into our community by providing more scholarships and more enrichment events for our members, which are a very important part of our community building goals.
-
If we raise $18,000 we will be on track with our expected income for our current season. This operates within our reduced budget structure and keeps our income and expenses balanced. This year, we have been generously offered significantly reduced facility fees at our meeting location of Niles Discovery Church and a portion of our music purchases for the year have been graciously given by the Fremont CandleLighters.
-
If we raise $15,000 we should be able to keep our season on track if we can access other sources of income in the spring. We can continue to offer our performances with donation based admission.
What your gift funds immediately:
-
Music & licensing — scores, digital permissions, and performance rights so every singer has legal access to the music and creators are fairly compensated.
-
Rehearsal & performance space — affordable, accessible venues where we can gather, rehearse, and perform.
-
Artistic leadership — fair stipends for our conductor and accompanist so rehearsals are well-led and concerts shine.
-
Community access — need-based scholarships so cost never keeps someone from singing.
-
Essentials that keep us running — insurance, website maintenance, library supplies and basic admin support.
Transparent target: how we would use your $20,000 donation
This is not our total budget for these expenses as we expect to generate additional income throughout the year to contribute to our overall costs.

More Social Events to allow us to strengthen our community and foster a healthy support network for our members.
-
Stronger future seasons with a small reserve so we aren’t fundraising in crisis again.
Why peer-to-peer fundraising matters:
When you contribute and share our fundraising page or create a page linking to this donation site, you amplify our song. A short note about why this choir matters to you reaches friends we could never reach alone, and their small gifts add up quickly to create a huge impact.
